le bon temps 'snippet' part deux

Michael never had trouble getting the girls. In fact he always had someone on his arm, but he always knew there was something missing. India was different. Most girls dance around to pop or club music, but she wiggled around to Bob Marley, Janis Joplin and Martha Reeves and The Vandella’s. She would wear ethereal lace dresses to parties, walk around her house in nothing but a vintage kimono and jewellery, regardless of who was there. Out of all the girls he knew, she was one of the one’s he hasn’t had a one night thing with. Every boy that knew India, at one point has been infatuated with her, but she never opened up to any of them. It was like she was a tease, but was so blissfully unaware of what she was doing.

When Michael first met her she was 15 and he always remembered her big brown eyes, her bee stung lips, her coquettish laugh and her smile, which was genuine, and every time he saw her since he’d always get the same smile, the one he had kind of fallen in love with.

Hannah Metz is who I imagine 'India' would look like.
If I ever publish this book, I'm going to try my hardest to get her to put her face to it.
